1-2-1 Peer Outreach Program
Maybe you feel isolated. Maybe you don't have anyone you can share your struggles with openly. Maybe you just need company while doing something you're concerned about. The 1-2-1 Peer Outreach Program is here to help you reconnect with your community.

What Is 1-2-1 Peer Outreach?
An initiative to bring peer support and connection to a community in need. A team of trained volunteers is available to go out into the community to conduct safe, public visits with individuals wanting a break from limited connections — whether with family who may not be open to hearing struggles, or paid resource workers who only want to talk about the issue.
Goal
To re-establish much-needed connection within the community. Whether it's fear or anxiety about getting out after a crisis, or depression from isolation, the goal is connection and belonging.
What Can You Do Together?
- Have a conversation about anything but daily challenges
- Attend appointments or errands together
- Brainstorm ideas for dealing with difficult situations
- Go for a walk in the neighbourhood or park
- Visit a coffee shop or library
- Window shop at a mall
- Any activity agreed upon that feels safe and comfortable
1-2-1 Peer Outreach Volunteers do not have access to funds for transportation (bus tickets, fares) or amenities (meals, tickets, entry fees).
Who Are 1-2-1 Volunteers?
People with lived experience of mental health challenges, substance use, or addictions who have achieved recovery and believe their experience can benefit others.
